Where We Work
The Association collaborates with mining communities through AWEIK chapters to empower grassroots Artisanal and Small-scale women miners (ASM) in mining activities within their counties.
Key established chapters include:
- Taita Taveta
- Kwale
- Turkana
- Kakamega
- Migori
- Narok
- Kitui
- Kisii
- Nairobi
We work closely with these county governments to engage women in mining and address issues affecting them, fostering the economic growth of their communities. Recently, we have advised and supported county governments in developing policies, legislation, and regulations to govern their county mining sectors, many of which hold commercial reserves of gemstones and gold.
