Lobbying and Advocacy

AWEIK collaborates with national and county governments, stakeholders, and communities to develop and implement inclusive policies and strategies for a sustainable energy and extractives industry. We coordinate with various actors to build consensus and contribute to necessary reforms for the sector’s progression.

Our engagement extends to stakeholders across Africa and globally, fostering transparent dialogues that address key issues affecting women in the energy and extractives value chain. Through participation in global forums like the Mining Indaba and partnerships with organizations such as TAWOMA, AWIMA, WIMUK, and IWIM, we advocate for women’s roles in the energy transition and inclusivity in the sector.

AWEIK leverages social media to share real-time sector updates, publications, and events, expanding our advocacy reach and sparking conversations around women’s participation in the energy and extractives industries. Our efforts have garnered commendations from notable stakeholders, reinforcing our commitment to driving change.
