Fair For All Program - Oxfam

FAIR for ALL is a transformative initiative aimed at achieving fundamental, systemic change by redefining the roles of the state and the market. The project’s overarching goal is to strengthen civil society, enabling it to create spaces and mobilize communities across regions to demand and contribute to more inclusive and sustainable trade and value chains. These value chains prioritize human rights, environmental protection, and women’s economic empowerment.

In Kenya, FAIR for ALL focuses on empowering communities in Taita Taveta, Turkana, and Kwale counties—regions rich in gemstones, gold, and mineral sands, respectively. The project ensures that grassroots communities, particularly women, fully benefit from the value chains of these resources. It also empowers them to meaningfully engage with the private sector and government to secure their fair share of benefits. FAIR for ALL has supported financial literacy trainings, Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) to enhance local financial resilience, market days (“Soko ya Madini”) to boost community trade and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) trainings in mining regions. It has also played a big role in hosting the annual Kenya Mining Week to foster industry collaboration and engagement. Through these efforts, FAIR for ALL continues to champion for systemic change, empowering communities and promoting sustainable, inclusive trade practices.
