AWEIK Mentorship Programme (AMP)

Kenya’s energy and extractives industry is rapidly evolving, driven by new laws, technological advancements, and an increasing presence of women entering this traditionally male-dominated sector. However, the industry still lacks a structured mentorship program tailored specifically to female students and young professionals looking to establish or advance their careers in this dynamic field.

To address this gap, AWEIK launched the AWEIK Mentorship Program (AMP), aimed at providing young women with the support and guidance they need to succeed in the energy and extractives industry.

AMP in Action:

The program kicked off with its first cohort of 13 mentees, who are already benefiting from invaluable mentorship opportunities. Through AMP, these young women have been paired with successful professionals and industry leaders who serve as mentors, offering guidance, tools, and support for their professional and personal development.

Program Highlights:

Empowering Women: AMP is designed to help female students and young professionals gain the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to thrive in the energy and extractives sector.
Mentor-Mentee Connections: Each mentee is paired with an experienced mentor who provides insight, advice, and opportunities for growth within the industry.
Promoting Diversity and Inclusion: AMP is committed to supporting women’s advancement in the sector, contributing to a more inclusive and diverse workforce.

With the success of the first cohort, AWEIK is excited to continue expanding the AMP, nurturing the next generation of female leaders who will shape the future of Kenya’s energy and extractives industry
